Day 13 of 30 Days of Poetry

I swim in a sea of fallow leaves
Swirling, dancing, twirling,
Whipped up by the breeze,
Golden fishes schooling.
Twist, flash of sun! Then dart:
As one they turn and glide.
This complex choreography
Fuels my deep desires.
But my yearning is in vain.
Curse this pull of gravity
Holding me fast
When I would fly.
